Why Nordhouse

A Bathroom Remodel Should Feel Planned — Not Unpredictable

The finished room matters. So does everything that happens before the final tile is set.

01

A Clear Scope Before Work Begins

You receive a written estimate / proposal that explains the agreed scope and the major work included in your project.

02

One Point of Contact

Your Project Manager coordinates the job and keeps you updated throughout the remodel.

03

Changes Are Approved Before the Work

If the scope changes, we discuss the cost and timeline and document it with a written change order before additional work begins.

04

The Work Behind the Tile Matters

We focus on proper preparation, waterproofing, transitions, corners, niches, and the details that protect your finished bathroom.

05

Respect for the Rest of Your Home

Floors and adjacent areas are protected, dust and debris are controlled, and the work area is cleaned at the end of each workday.

Clear Scope

Know What’s Included Before Work Begins

Starting fromDetailed Written Proposal

After the in-home consultation, we prepare a written estimate outlining the agreed scope, major work included, allowances where applicable, and the next steps before construction begins. Plus, save $1,500 on a qualifying bathroom remodel when you book your free in-home design and planning session.

Before Construction

Detailed Written Proposal

After we see the space, we prepare a written estimate / detailed proposal outlining the agreed scope and the major work included.

Material Allowances

Allowances Are Explained Upfront

If a fixture or finish has not been selected yet, the proposal may include an allowance. We explain the amount upfront, and the final difference reflects the product you actually choose.

Client-Requested Changes

Changes Are Priced Before Extra Work Is Done

If you request a change after work begins, we discuss the impact on price and schedule first and document the change before the additional work is performed.

Hidden Conditions

What If We Find a Problem Behind the Walls?

Some conditions can only be confirmed after demolition. If we uncover significant damage, we document what we found, explain the recommended repair and cost, and get your approval before additional work proceeds.

A Clear Process

From the First Walkthrough to the Final Detail

Most standard bathroom remodels take about 10–15 business days once construction begins. More complex projects can take longer depending on scope, materials, inspections, and existing conditions.

  1. In-Home Consultation

We review the bathroom, your goals, layout, and known issues.

  2. Detailed Proposal

You receive a written scope and estimate before construction starts.

  3. Planning & Selections

We help coordinate tile, vanity, fixtures, colors, and other finish decisions.

  4. Demolition & Preparation

Existing materials are removed and underlying conditions are evaluated.

  5. Rough Work & Waterproofing

Plumbing, electrical, framing, subfloor preparation, and wet-area waterproofing are completed as required.

  6. Tile & Installation

Tile, vanity, fixtures, paint, trim, and finishing work come together.

  7. Final Walkthrough

We review the finished bathroom with you and address final details.

Waterproofing & Workmanship

Beautiful Tile Is Only the Finish. What’s Under It Matters More.

For shower and wet-area projects, we primarily use Schluter waterproofing systems, including components such as shower pans, waterproofing membranes, KERDI-BOARD, and KERDI-BAND where appropriate.

  • Corners, seams, niches, penetrations, drain connections, and transitions receive special attention.
  • When appropriate, the shower pan can be water / flood tested before finish materials are installed.
  • Proper preparation and waterproofing are part of the build — not something you should have to think about after the bathroom is finished.

— Prep

Subfloor / substrate correction and wet-area preparation.

— Waterproof

Schluter components installed for the project conditions.

— Test / Inspect

Water / flood testing when appropriate.

— Tile & Finish

Tile, grout, transitions, fixtures, and final detailing.
